Free School Meals Information

If you have applied for Free Meals over 5 weeks ago and have not been notified by EA about your entitlement please email them on mealsanduniform@eani.org.uk .  If you have not been notified you will have to pay for your child's dinner until your application has been approved.  It can take up to 5 weeks for your application to be processed.

Free Meals Department are experiencing a high volume of activity with Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance applications and you may be placed in a queue.

You have until the end of July 2022 to apply with correct documentation to ensure your application can be processed before the start of the new school year.  You can still apply after the end of July but your application may not be processed in time for the start of the school year.

Ensure you have all the information ready which you need to apply.

You can apply for your Free School meals through this link.  Please follow all the instructions carefully.  If you already are in receipt of Free School Meals you must reapply.

To be eligible, you must be in receipt of one of the following:

  • Income Support;
  • Income Based Jobseekers’ Allowance;
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit with an annual taxable household income of £16,190 or less;
  • Universal Credit with net household earnings not exceeding £14,000 per year.

Or, you are an Asylum Seeker supported by the Home Office Asylum Support Assessment Team (ASAT).

When applying, you will be asked to upload proof that you are receiving a qualifying benefit - such as your Tax Credits Award Notice or your Universal Credit Payments breakdown or your Proof of Benefit letter (if you are in receipt of Income Support, Income Based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Related Employment and Support Allowance or the Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit).
