Primary 7 children had a lovely morning meeting the Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Maolíosa McHugh. As always, they were a pleasure to take to the Guildhall to participate in a question and answer session. They then drew pictures of the Mayor which will be judged by the man himself. This was followed by a tour of the Guildhall and concluded with a debate between local councillors Darren O'Reilly and Gary Donnelly in which the children had to cast a vote using their own ballot paper. A great day out for 'Local Democracy Week' and they even got a goodie bag to take away!
